How it works

Find your perfect filter

Four questions and we'll tell you which screen you need

Nobody buys a filter knowing what MERV rating they want. Tell us about the house instead.

What do you most want this filter to deal with?

We took this over because it worked on us first

Mickey and Gay Harris sold the Green Screen for nine years before buying the company in 2016. They kept using it for the same reason their customers do — they got off their allergy medication. Today they ship from a warehouse in Bertram, Texas, and they'll tell you which screen you need if you call and ask.

Put your refills on a schedule

The screen is the only part you ever replace, so it's the one thing worth automating. Tell us your size and how often you change it, and we'll take it from there.

  1. Tell us your size

The same screen and size you'd order anyway. If you don't know your size, we'll work it out with you.

  2. Pick how often

Most homes land somewhere between two and three months. Pets, carpet, or a dusty stretch of year shorten it.

  3. It shows up on its own

A fresh screen arrives before the one in your unit is spent. Nothing to remember, nothing to reorder.

We used these filters for over 13 years at our previous home and our ductwork looked like new when we moved.

Questions worth asking

What size do I need?

Use the size printed on your current filter, or measure the opening. All filters are sold in nominal sizes, which are slightly smaller than the actual opening so they fit — a 20x25x1 measures about 19 5/8" x 24 5/8" x 3/4". If you're between sizes, call us and we'll sort it out.

What's the difference between the green, blue, and orange screens?

They're the same system at different filtration levels. Blue is MERV 7 for everyday dust. Green comes in two grades: MERV 10 is our most popular and the one to choose if you have pets, and MERV 11 is the finest weave we make, for allergies and asthma — though not for homes with shedding pets. Orange is a 2" option. Activated carbon is an add-on for odors rather than a replacement.

How often do I replace the screen?

Most homes go two to three months. Pets, high occupancy, carpet, or a dusty area will shorten that. Homes with several filter locations usually go longer. The frame itself is permanent — you're only ever replacing the screen.

Do I have to buy the metal frame?

For a filter slot inside the HVAC unit, yes — the frame is what holds the screen in place. For a wall or ceiling return you have a choice: use the metal frame, or install a fixed grid in the return opening. Both are one-time purchases.
